Definition:

acrodynia (Greek, acrodynia = painful extremities) chronic mercury poisoning in infants and young, also called "Pink Disease" occurred throughout the world (Australia 1890's) before the recognition of mercurys toxic effects. Mercurous chloride was used in "teething powders" which were given to crying babies as a purgative agent to cleanse the system.

Support Group
Pink Disease Support Group

The Pink Disease Support Group was founded by Heather Thiele in 1989. Heather's aim was to collect information regarding Pink Disease, provide information and support to other survivors of Pink Disease, and to publicize the health problems associated with Post Pink Disease Syndrome.

The group also provides quarterly newsletters, email chat groups for those with Pink Disease and/or bronchiectasis, and is continuing to research Post Pink Disease Syndrome, and Pink Disease itself.
